Where is Your Emergency Backpack
Survival Backpack - It Can Be a Lifesaver
Paranoid people used to be the only ones that kept a emergency backpack
ready for their family. Lately, it is more intelligent to have
something ready in case of an emergency or disaster. A man-made or
natural disaster could pop up at any time and we would have no idea of
its approach.
Ready Yourself for what Stems from Mother Nature
You
may live in an area where it is common to be threatened by a natural
disaster. Regardless of if this is the case for you or not, no one is
safe from tragedy. You can take comfort in knowing that your family is
prepared to survive if something terrible should happen.
Societal Changes Could Alter You and Your Family!
Every
day we see conflict within our world. Many people feel that it is far
enough away that they won't be affected, but this isn't true. We live
in a world where people that are innocent have been targeted with
terrorism. What is important is to be prepared for an attack,
especially if you are responsible for an entire family.
Getting Your Survival Backpack Ready
By
getting together the supplies you would need to survive, you are
protecting your family. Begin with the basics and then move on to other
things. It is the necessities that matter the most when you are faced
with a disaster.
You will need a couple emergency blankets for your survival pack.
Your family size is what should determine how many you need. You should
have one blanket per person to be sure that everyone stays warm. Your
other option is to gather blankets that are larger so that more than
one person can use it.
You also need to pack emergency
survival food in your survival pack. You can can your food at home or
purchase canned goods at the store. Another good idea for survival pack
contents are MREs, or "Meals Ready to Eat." You can purchase these at
army supply stores, as they are commonly used by the military.
Having
gear that is meant for surviving an emergency is also great. Tools,
methods of lighting a fire like matches and first aid kits are all good
ideas to further protect your family. It is most important to have
water that is clean. Also, think about what you will do if the water
that you do have runs out and you need to make more.
The Most Priceless Supply is Peace of Mind
If
you prepare yourself with the emergency products that you will need,
you will be calm in an emergency. Knowing that your family and the
people that you love are safe due to the way that you have prepared
yourself will keep you sane during a trying time . You can't depend on
other people to be responsible for your family's safety. Rather than do
that, keep an emergency backpack stocked. You will be happy that you were prepared if you ever should have to use it.

Just came across your hub while researching. Lots of good stuff in there. One thing i'd add would be to play with all the stuff in your survival kit so you know how it all works. Go camping and give everything a good shakeout!
I've got some more thoughts on survival backpacks if anyone is interested on my site: http://www.allsurvivalthings.com/survival-backpack
